Ludwig Muller, 69, formerly of Newburgh, died Friday, May 25, 2007 after a long illness at Duke University Medical Center in Durham, N.C.

He was born on January 4, 1938 in Silz, Germany to the late Ludwig and Anna Braun Muller. He immigrated to America in May of 1956. He married RoseAnne Colaluca Muller on October 15, 1967. He was preceded in death by his loving wife in 2004.

He is survived by his daughter, Elena Muller of Durham, N.C.; a son, Henry Muller of Newburgh; three grandchildren: Kari, Rebecca and Henry Muller Jr. of Newburgh; two nephews, the Rev. Frank Schwarz of Queens, N.Y., and Thomas Schwarz of Oceanside, N.Y., and a niece, Mary-Anna Schaefer of Queens, N.Y. He is also survived by many cousins.

A baker by trade, Mr. Muller was active with the Raleigh Department of Parks and Recreation program for the visually impaired, the Visually Impaired Person Support group, the Wake Federation for the Blind, and St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church.

A Catholic Mass of Resurrection will take place at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, 11401 Leesville Road in Raleigh, N.C. on Monday, May 28 at 10 a.m. The Memorial Mass will be officiated by his nephew and Godson, the Rev. Frank Schwarz. A procession to the church columbarium will immediately follow the Mass.
