Margaret E. Gallagher, 87, of Livingstonville, N.Y., formerly of Highland Lake, N.J., died Saturday, May 26, 2007, peacefully at home.

Mrs. Gallagher was born in Brooklyn, N.Y. on October 24, 1919, a daughter of the late Edward and Eleanor Smedley Hughes. She was a homemaker who enjoyed sewing, knitting, crocheting, cooking and taking care of her family. Mrs. Gallagher was a lifetime member of the V.F.W. Post #8441, Vernon Valley, N.J., and also a member of the American Legion Post #1073, Brooklyn, N.Y.

Mrs. Gallagher was predeceased by her husband, Joseph Gallagher, whom she married on August 6, 1960.

She is survived by daughter, Margaret (George) ONeill of Livingstonville, N.Y.; sons: John Osbeck of Payson, Ariz., Edward (Theresa) Osbeck of Brooklyn, N.Y., and Joseph (Julie) Gallagher of Warwick; 13 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; sister, Francis (Fred) Brinkel of Arizona, Julia Busch of Iowa, and Eleanor Bianco of Arizona, and several nieces and nephews.

A private family burial will be made in the Fairview Cemetery in Sussex, N.J. A Memorial Service will be planned at a later date.
