Patricia Ann Clark is a 33-year resident of Middletown, N.Y. She was born in Durham, N.C. on April 27, 1947 to Naomi Newton and Edward Hicks. Patricia departed this life Friday, May 25, 2007 at Orange Regional Medical Center in Middletown, N.Y. She was 60.

She relocated to Nanuet, N.Y. where she met Clarence Edward Clark. They were later married on December 23, 1968 and from that union, two daughters were born, Yvette Diane Clark and Jennifer Marie Clark.

Her gift of teaching and her love for children led her to a career in education. She was employed by Middletown Head Start, Kinder College and YMCA of Middletown. She was instrumental in obtaining the YMCAs first computer.

Patricia, a devoted Christian, attended Solid Rock Church of God in New Windsor, N.Y. Prior to her illness she was active in ministry and her community.

Her three greatest passions in life were her relationship with God, her family, and her concern for people.

She was a very outgoing person. She could strike up a conversation with anyone. She had a comfortable sense of herself, and was strong in her belief. Throughout her prolonged illness, she never complained. Instead, she chose to encourage and uplift others. Patricia touched many lives in her time and will live in our memories forever.

She leaves to cherish her memories with her husband, Clarence Edward Clark of Middletown, N.Y.; two daughters, Yvette Diane Clark and fiance, Renard Dion Spratling of High Point, N.C. and Jennifer Marie Clark of Middletown, N.Y.; one granddaughter, Tranejh DeAndrea Prince of Middletown, N.Y.; mother, Naomi Newton of Middletown, N.Y.; father, Edward Hicks of Durham, N.C.; three brothers, Larry Eugene Newton of Durham, N.C., James Joseph Newton of Port Jervis, N.Y. and Richard Newton of New York City, N.Y.; one sister, Cynthia Lynette Wright of Roanoke, Va.; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. She was predeceased by brother, David Newton.

First visitation will be Thursday, May 31, 2007 from 6-9 p.m. family will be present at 7 p.m. at Solid Rock, 20 Hollaran Road, New Windsor, N.Y. Second visitation will be Friday, June 1, 2007 from 10-11 a.m. at Solid Rock. Services begin at 11 a.m. at the church. Reverend Thomas S. Stimpson, officiating. Interment will be at Cedar Hill Cemetery, Middlehope, N.Y.
