Capt. Daniel V. Foley of San Antonio, Texas and formerly of New York City, N.Y., a retired Captain for the U.S. Navy, died March 8, 2007 in San Antonio, Texas.

Son of the late Owen Foley and Elizabeth Barrett Foley, he was born in New York, N.Y. He was the widower of Helen L. Corwin Foley.

Capt. Foley was a life member and former president for the New York Council and Empire Region Navy League of The U.S.; retired Captain of the New York Naval Militia; life member of the Friendly Sons of St. Patrick of the City of New York; member of the Navy Reserve Association; member of the Naval Order of the U.S., the oldest Military Association of the U.S. Veteran of WWII, U.S. Navy.

Survivors include one daughter, Mary Beth Geraci of San Antonio, Texas; three grandchildren, Danielle, Caitlyn and Meghan Geraci; his sister-in-law, Elizabeth Benson and her husband, John of Matamoras, Pa.; and several nieces and nephews.

Friends may call Tuesday, June 5, from 9:15 to 10:15 a.m. at the Knight-Auchmoody Funeral Home, 154 East Main St., Port Jervis, N.Y.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, June 5 at 10:15 a.m. at the funeral home, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. in St. Josephs R.C. Church, Matamoras, Pa. The Rev. August Ricciardi will officiate. Burial will be in Pine Grove Cemetery, Matamoras, Pa., with military honors.
