Robert L. Teachman, a 58 year resident of the area, passed away Wednesday, May 30, 2007 at his home. He was 84 years old.

The son of the late Andrew and Kathryn Stratton Teachman, he was born October 20, 1922 in Buffalo, N.Y.

He was the husband of Madeline Caliciotti Teachman.

Mr. Teachman was a retired postal clerk and carrier for the Matamoras U.S. Postal Service. He was a member and Elder of the Deerpark Reformed Church, Port Jervis. He was a Veteran of the U.S. Air Force serving in the Asiatic and Pacific during World War II, and 18 years as a Tech Sgt., Master Mechanic, Flight Engineer and Flight Line Director. He received the Good Conduct Medal, The American Service Medal and the World War II Victory Medal.

He was a member of Roosa-Fleming V.F.W. Post #161, Port Jervis; The American Paralyzed Veterans Assoc.; and the D.A.V. (Disabled American Veterans); he was a 45 year member of the Westfall Fire Dept., Past President and Financial Secretary for 25 years. He was a life member of Marsch-Kellogg American Legion Post, Milford, Pa.; member of the Pennsylvania State Fire Police for 35 years; member of the Port Jervis and Minisink Bowling Leagues, he was also an avid golfer, hunter, and fisherman.

He is survived by his wife, Madeline Caliciotti Teachman, at home; one daughter, DawnLynn Brue of Royal Palm Beach, Fla.; one sister, Shirley Georgi of Matamoras, Pa.; his step-brother, Charles Teachman of Silver Creek, N.Y.; step-sister, Marcia Smith of Nebraska; as well as several nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his sisters, Barbara Mosher, and Dorthea Theodore.

Friends may call on Friday, June 1, 2007 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the Knight-Auchmoody Funeral Home, 154 E Main St., Port Jervis.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, June 2, 2007 at 12 p.m. in the Deerpark Reformed Church, Port Jervis. Rev. Ann Rost will officiate. Burial will be in Pine Grove Cemetery, Matamoras, Pa. with Military Honors.
