Dorothy Mae Taylor Broadnax, 87, a 62-year resident of Highland Falls and a homemaker, died Sunday, July 22, 2007 at Orange Regional Medical Center in Middletown.

The daughter of the late Jesse Taylor and Victoria Herring Taylor, she was born August 23, 1919 in Memphis, Tenn.

She was a member of St. Johns AME Zion Church, Highland Falls.

Survivors include daughter, Ella Victoria Housey and husband Eldridge of Hinesville, Ga.; daughter-in-law, Wilma Collins of Georgia; dear friend, Ricky Swirz of Highland Falls; four grandchildren: Christopher, Alfonso, April and Darnell and wife, Elaine and 11 great grandchildren, along with a host of dear friends. She was predeceased by parents and son, John Lee Collins, Jr. In spite of all lifes obstacles that she encountered, she always wore a beautiful smile. She will be greatly missed.

Visitation will be Friday, July 27 from 6-7 p.m. at St. Johns AME Zion Church, 7 Muller Ave., Highland Falls.

Services begin at 7 p.m. with the Rev. Moses Carter, Sr. officiating. Interment will be Saturday, July 28 at Woodlawn Cemetery, New Windsor.
