Ruth Belfiore, a homemaker and longtime area resident, died Sunday, July 29, 2007 at St. Lukes Cornwall Hospital, Newburgh Campus. She was 78.

The daughter of the late Matthew and Emma Gerhardt Conklin, she was born June 21, 1929 in the Bronx. She was the widow of Charles Belfiore.

Survivors include her sons, Wayne C. Belfiore and wife, Lillian and Matthew Belfiore and his special friend, Linda; daughter, Kim B. Kavanagh and husband, Thomas and Karen Garzon and husband, Richard; brother, Matthew Conklin; ten grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her sister, Margaret Yevcheck.

Visitation will be held from — to 7 p.m., today, Wednesday, August 1, at White & Venuto Funeral Home, 188 N. Plank Rd., Newburgh.

A prayer service will be conducted by Father Vincent Howley. Cremation will follow in Cedar Hill Crematory.
