J.R. Walden has been promoted to senior vice president, technology, of Mediacom Communications Corp. In his new role, Walden will direct all technology-related functions for the company.
Walden began his career working for the U.S. Department of Defense in military research, where he was introduced to mainframes, supercomputers and the Internet. Later, while employed by defense contractors Comarco and Science Application International Corp., he managed an early municipal dial-up Internet business that was acquired by Mediacom in 1996. He officially joined Mediacom in 1998.
