The National Weather Service has issued flood warnings for throughout the region as numerous showers and thunderstorms are expected to develop in the early afternoon and evening hours.

A Flash Flood Watch remains in effect from 8 a.m. Friday through Saturday morning in Orange County. Showers and thunderstorms will tapper of
from southeast to northeast by early morning. These showers and
thunderstorms will bring one and a half to 2 inches of rain across the tri- state with locally higher amounts in excess of 4 inches possible.

Rainfall of this magnitude will result in flooding due to
excessive runoff from already saturated ground... as well as
flooding of urban and poor drainage areas.

In Sullivan and Ulster counties a Flood Watch is in effect with the the potential for flooding on small streams... creeks... poor drainage... urban and low-lying areas based on current forecasts.
