NEW HAMPTON - Balchem Corp. reported record net income of $9.4 million, or 31 cents per diluted share, for the fourth quarter of 2010, up from a profit of $7.0 million, or 24 cents per share, during the final three months of 2009.
Net sales jumped to a record $69.8 million during the fourth quarter, up from $59.2 million a year before.
Balchem manufacturers specialty ingredients for the food and animal-feed industries and packages ethylene oxide, which is used for medical-device sterilization. The company is based in New Hampton and operates several plants across the country and abroad, including one in Slate Hill.
For the full year 2010, the company earned $33.3 million, or $1.12 per diluted share, up from $26.8 million, or 93 cents per share, in 2009.
