James I. O'Neill junior Megan Clark recorded a school and Section 9 indoor record in the pole vault by leaping 13 feet to win the girls' event at the Eastern States championships on Tuesday at the New York Armory.
Clark's effort is tied for third best in the nation this season.
The Warwick relay of Tim Luthin, Dan Paez, Ray Farinella and Aaron Peterson placed third in the 3,200-meter event (7:56.79). Monroe-Woodbury's relay of Sean Egan, Pat Rooney, John Leonick and Ryan Brennan were 10th (8:01.85).
Newburgh's Tiyi Boone placed fourth in the girls' triple jump (38-2).
Nick Perez of Monroe-Woodbury placed fifth in the pole vault (14-0).
Aaliyah Pittman of Newburgh placed 15th in the shot put (35-8.5). Teammate Jalayne Robinson was 27th (33-0.75).
The Warwick relay of Charlotte Brunjes, Darby Ginley, Megan Mydosh and Jessica Stokkeland placed 23rd in the 3,200 event (9:48.05).
