September 22, 1945 - February 6, 2018
Ilene Saffer of Monticello, NY peacefully entered in to rest on Tuesday, February 6, 2018 at home. She was 72.
Ilene was born on September 22, 1945 in Brooklyn, NY. After leaving Brooklyn, her home for most of her life and retiring from her many years working in the jewelry district in Manhattan, she moved to Monticello where she formed many friendships and touched countless lives. Ilene was well known for her sense of humor, "tell it like it is attitude" and was always up for a good bingo game.
Although she may have left this Earth, she will continue to thrive in the hearts of those who loved her and whom she loved dearly and deeply.
She was predeceased by her mother, Sally Saffer.
Ilene is survived by her sister, Anne J. Stevens and her husband, Ronald of Sackett Lake, NY, their aide, Wilma Saint Fleur, her companion and loyal friend, Kenya Snowden of Monticello, NY and her adopted nephew, Jeffrey A. Walter of Eldred, NY and as countless nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Graveside services were be held on Thursday, February 8, 2018 at Mount Ararat Cemetery, 1165 NY Route 109, Lindenhurst, NY 11757.
In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the charity of your choice or plant a tree in Israel in Ilene's name through the Jewish National Fund.
Shiva will be observed at the Stevens residence in Sackett Lake.
