June 16, 1943 - March 5, 2018
Millicent Louise Whittick passed away peacefully on March 5, 2018. She was born in Clarendon, Jamaica on June 16, 1943 to Sidney Whittick and Elmozine Fearon (Nelson).
Millicent left Jamaica in 1970 for London. While there she attended nursing school and was certified as a Registered Nurse. She worked at several hospitals during her time in London.
In 1980, Millicent relocated to the United States, where she continued working as a nurse. She lived for awhile in Teaneck, NJ, then eventually settled down in Middletown, NY making it her denizen.
Millicent was very kind and thoughtful. She was dedicated to her family and friends. She was always willing to assist those in need. Her love for helping others and giving advice came naturally to her. She didn't think twice about buying groceries for friends who were without. She took time volunteering for meals-on-wheels and hosting special needs adults. And, she also provided for her family in London and Jamaica. Her passion to help others was evident.
In her spare time she enjoyed traveling, cooking and gardening.
Millicent was close to God. On her last day she said that she wanted to go 'home'. God granted Millicent's wish and welcomed her home after a short illness on March 5, 2018.
She's survived by her brothers: Owen, Stanley and Audley and her sister, Monica. She leaves behind nieces and nephews, a host of cousins, other relatives and friends.
