January 18, 1936 ~ May 15, 2018

Newburgh, NY

William E. Doering, 83, entered into rest Wednesday, May 15, 2018. He was born January 18, 1936 in Cornwall, NY.

Bill was a retired painter working many years with the Painter's Union and then with several contractors. Bill loved his family very much, and others who knew him always had a kind word about him and his loveable personality and kind heart. Over the past several years he enjoyed volunteering at his nephew, Ted Doering's Motorcylepedia Museum in Newburgh where he would meet and greet and connect with people. We have lost one of the best men we have ever known.

He is survived by his daughters, Jennifer Saprette and husband, Frank of Newburgh and Lynne Garcia and husband, Dave of Plattekill; three grandchildren: William Lazaro and life partner, Aaron O'Rourke of Hollywood, FL, Alexis Lazaro of Plattekill and Lauren Lazaro and fiance, Eric Schoentube Jr. of Schenectady; four great-grandchildren: Nicholas, Dylan, Paige and Paislee Lazaro; brother, Jerry Doering and wife, Katie of New Windsor; and sister, Lois Terp and husband, Al of Southold, NY. He was predeceased by his wife of 34 years, Adrianne Doering.

Visitation will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, May 17 at Brooks Funeral Home, 481 Gidney Ave., Newburgh. A service and burial will be held at 12 p.m. on Friday at Woodlawn Cemetery, New Windsor.
