She graduated from Mount Saint Mary Academy Class of 1943. She also was a graduate of the Katharine Gibbs School. Prior to raising her family, Nadine worked as a book keeper for her father's business, GE Howard and Company for many years. Later in life she became a realtor for Caldwell Banker Currier and Lazier Realtors in Newburgh. While raising her daughters, Nadine was a homemaker and enjoyed entertaining and hosting her children's friends. She never objected to a houseful of kids, "kick-ball" on the front lawn and last minute rides for school activities and other events.

Nadine was always active in the Newburgh community. She was a member of the Republican Committee women; a lifelong member of the Catholic Daughters Court Patricia; an organizer of Mount Saint Mary's High School Alumni Association; Meals on Wheels and actively contributed to organizing and supporting her husband's association with the V.F.W. Nadine had a beautiful soul inside and out. She loved spending time with her family and friends, near or far. She was happiest traveling the roads of Orange County to visit her many friends. She made frequent trips from Shohola to Newburgh to attend functions at the Mount or other places. You never knew when Nadine was going to drop by! She had many friends throughout her long life. She left her mark on their hearts and they in turn touched her heart. It is a fact that she will be deeply missed!
