Ollie Mae Leggett entered into eternal rest on Monday, January 7, 2019 at St. Luke's Cornwall Hospital. She was 85.

She was born October 4, 1933 to mother, Bessie Tillis and father, JD Murray in Florence Mississippi. She was the second child of five children.

After marrying L.C. Leggett they later moved to Newburgh, New York. Ollie and L.C. were blessed with four children: Mary, Catherine, L.C. Jr, and Bernita. Ollie had many hobbies, one thing that she loved was doing hair. Owning her own Hair Salon straight out of her house she gained many customers from young to old. Besides working at her salon, Ollie had a career of being a nurse. As a beloved nurse at St. Luke's Hospital, Ollie's career exceed to 50 years, she was loved by staff, patients and upper management. Ollie was such a good and cherished nurse that when many of the patients would see her they would all give her a big hug.

Ollie always loved her family and was there for them no matter what she was loved by many, with such a caring and nurturing personality she will forever be in our hearts.

Ollie leaves to cherish her memory and legacy her children: Mary Akinloba of Gainesville, FL, L.C. Leggett Jr. of Newburgh, NY, Bernita Ellison of San Diego, CA; sister, Pinkie Hawkins (Eddie) of Philadelphia, PA; two brothers, Legrete Ainsworth, and Abdulla Ali both of Newburgh, NY and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Preceding her in death is her dear mother, Bessie Tillis and father, JD Murray; husband, L.C.; brother, Lenzie Murray; sister, Easter Mae Harper and daughter, Catherine Frazier.

Mrs. Leggett will lie in repose from 9 to 10 a.m., Saturday, January 12, 2019 at Church of God By Faith, 29 Bridge Street, Newburgh, NY. Funeral service begins at 10 a.m. at the church. Interment is at Woodlawn Cemetery, New Windsor, NY.
