MILFORD, Pa. _ A new co-working space is slated to open on Oct. 1 at 310 W Harford St. The space will give independent contractors, sole proprietors, and work-from-home employees a place to get out of the house to work, collaborate and focus on their business. Memberships are on sale now and can be secured by visiting konnect.kkmpr.com.
Co-working is shared space where entrepreneurs, freelancers, remote workers, and anyone else who wants access to a fully equipped office can work. It helps professionals avoid the isolation they may experience while working at home, while also providing an office space to host meetings.
Konnect, created by Katrina Foster, local serial entrepreneur and owner of KKPR Marketing & Public Relations, Inc., offers a fun and friendly environment with flexible spaces where professionals can take advantage of co-working space, private rentals, and a quiet room. Memberships include unlimited tea and coffee, along with high speed internet, endless power outlets, copy and printing, access to A/V equipment and availability to privately book the space for meetings and events.
“Necessity is the mother of invention,” said Foster. “I had been approached by a number of colleagues looking to spend time at KKPR Marketing & Public Relations for the day or a period of time because of our boutique’s culture, as well as access to our internet and other office amenities. It hadn’t dawned on me to create a co-working space until a friend and colleague suggested it; I was apprehensive at first, but it seemed like all the pieces just aligned for this to come to fruition.”
Konnect also will partner with local female artists to showcase and sell their work within the co-working space. Rose Fernandez of Milford will be the first featured artist.
