TUXEDO PARK — On March 15 at 3 p.m. The Tuxedo Park Library Authors’ Circle presents Lili Anolik author of “Hollywood's Eve: Eve Babitz and the Secret History of L.A.” and the return of Katie Rosman, editor and columnist, SundayStyles at The New York Times in “Conversation with Katie” in the reading room at the library.


Anolik and Rosman discuss Anolik’s book, part biography, part cultural analysis and part memoir of the fascinating life of Eve Babitz. A onetime "It" girl who had affairs with Harrison Ford, and Jim Morrison; partied with Mick Jagger, Jack Nicholson and Sharon Tate; designed album covers for The Byrds and wrote "fiction" from the '70s through the '90s that mirrored her adventures.


Lili Anolik is a contributing editor at Vanity Fair. Her work has also appeared in Harper’s, Esquire, and The Believer.


Library program to host lecture


on history of Ireland


CORNWALL – The Cornwall Public Library at 395 Hudson Street in Cornwall, will host a lecture, Ireland: A Very Brief History of a Complex Situation. The program will take place from 10 a.m.- noon Feb. 29 in the Library’s community room.


Capt. Andrew Campbell, a teacher of European history at the United States Military Academy at West Point, will give this informative talk on the history of Ireland. Along with his multiple deployments, Capt. Campbell has completed graduate studies in British history and has a master’s degree in Organizational Leadership.


This is a drop-in program, and registration is not required.


Chinese History through Film

CORNWALL – The Cornwall Public Library at 395 Hudson Street in Cornwall, will host a program, China History and Culture through Film: “Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon.” The program will take place from 1-3:45 p.m. Feb. 23 in the Library’s community room.


The film tells the story of a young Chinese warrior who steals a sword from a famed swordsman and then escapes into a world of romantic adventure with a mysterious man in the frontier of the nation.


This action-packed, box office smash was the winner of the Film Critics’ Award and Golden Globe. Released in 2000, “Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon” was directed by Ang Lee and written by Wang Hui-ling, James Schamus and Tsai Kuo Jung, based on the Chinese novel by Wang Dulu. The film stars Yun-Fat Chow, Ziyi Zhang, and Michelle Yeoh.


Dr. Lan Jiang, Vice President of the Orange County Chinese Association, will lead a discussion before and after the film.


This program is suitable for adults only, due to the film’s content.
