Theater on the road

FALLSBURG - The Sullivan County Dramatic Workshop production of David Lindsay-Abaire’s "Rabbit Hole" staged at the Rivoli Theatre in Fallsburg this past July has been chosen to go on to statewide competition at the Theatre Association of New York State Festival at Cayuga Community College, in Auburn, Nov. 16-18.

Winner of the 2007 Pulitzer Prize for Drama, "Rabbit Hole" is an intensely emotional examination of grief, laced with wit, insight, compassion and searing honesty. Becca and Howie Corbett had a picture-perfect family life in the suburbs of New York until a random, tragic accident took the life of their 4-year old son. Rabbit Hole delves into the complexity of a family navigating deep grief and learning what it means to try and regain a meaningful life with a redefined sense of “normal.”

The production staged in July earned TANYS awards for Excellence in Direction (Lori Schneider), Excellence in Technical Direction (Jim Schmidt) and Excellence in Ensemble Acting to the Cast (Terri Mateer, John Neails, Taylor Lamerand, Carol Macadam, Cole Phillips).
