A cultural fest

The 2019 Water Lantern Festival at Thomas Bull Memorial Park in Montgomery, starts at 4 p.m. Orange County’s free event will include cultural stage performances, games, and kid-friendly activities. Attendees can purchase Chinese lanterns to be released along the lake at sunset as well as Asian and American cuisine and refreshments throughout the evening. 211 Route 416, Montgomery.

Bring your broken but beloved items to Middletown Thrall Library for a Repair Cafe, 10 a.m.-1 p.m., at 11 Depot St. Repair "coaches" will fix broken items and offer professional advice. You'll meet helpful folks and get inspired.

It's a tradition

The Great Hudson River Revival is a Father's Day weekend tradition. Also called the Clearwater Festival, it's on 9 a.m.-9 p.m. both days at Croton Point Park, Croton-on-Hudson. Music, dance, puppet shows and more flow on four stages, with the famous and the soon-to-be, including Ani DiFranco, Mavis Staples, Tom Chapin, Aztec Two-Step, Tom Paxton, Guy Davis, The Wailers and of course a tribute to Pete Seeger. A family day out

Head to Goshen Historic Track for First Responders Day and matinee harness racing, starting at 11:30 a.m. Admission is free. Post time 1 p.m. Cheer for your favorite horse and driver. There'll also be live music, barbecue style food, face painting, raffles, ice cream, a bouncy House, Kids Safe program, police demonstrations.
