Shelters adopt COVID-19 protocols

The following shelters have been designated essential and are operating. To protect the public and its staff from COVID-19, some animal shelters are now closed to the public but are allowing potential adopters to meet adoptable animals by appointment only or virtually. More information on their adoptable pets is often found on the shelters’ Web sites, along with adoption applications. Monetary donations are desperately needed. Call shelter before delivering any supply donations. Rescues cannot continue operating, as they are not deemed an “essential” service.

The following animals are available for adoption from area nonprofit animal shelters. The information for these animals comes directly from the shelters, and the Times Herald-Record does not guarantee its validity. Adoption fees are required and vary from shelter to shelter. These organizations rely on donations and adoption fees to continue operating. Available pets also on recordonline.com/pets.
