Oneida County Legislator Brian Miller held a comfortable lead Tuesday night over Maria Kelso in a Republican primary for the seven-county Assembly District 101 seat, the office that Republican Assemblywoman Claudia Tenney is vacating this year to run for Congress.

The winner of the race will face Democrat Arlene Feldmeier in the Nov. 8 general election. Kelso is chairwoman of the Delaware County Republican Committee and an aide on Tenney's Assembly staff. The 101st Assembly District includes seven towns in Orange, Ulster and Sullivan counties.
