TOWN OF WALLKILL - Wallkill police are investigating possible links between robberies involving masked men with guns at two different Route 211 food shops in the last three weeks.

Wallkill police Chief Robert Hertman said Tuesday that the Aug. 31 robbery at Popeye's and the robbery at Dunkin' Donuts on Sunday may have been committed by the same people.

At 11:52 p.m. on Aug. 31 three masked men in dark clothing, two with guns, approached the manager of the Popeye's as he left the restaurant, police say. They took property from the manager then forced him to let them into Popeye's, stealing cash, police say.

At 2:49 a.m. Sunday four masked men wearing dark clothing, three with guns, entered the Dunkin' Donuts at 425 Route 211 East and had the clerk hand over cash.

Anyone with information is being asked to call Wallkill police detectives at 692-6757.
