PINE BUSH —The Town of Crawford Police Department will hold a memorial ceremony Saturday morning in honor of the late Sgt. Eric Meier, who died in the line of duty one year ago.

The ceremony will be held at 9 a.m. behind the police department on State Route 302 in Pine Bush, where the department will unveil a law enforcement memorial built by the Police Benevolent Association and the Town of Crawford.

The date of the ceremony, Sept. 17, will mark exactly one year since Crawford suffered its first line of duty death. Eric Meier, age 51, suffered a medical emergency while investigating a report of a marijuana growing operation on Sept. 17, 2015. He had been with the department more than 25 years.
