PORT JERVIS – A Port Jervis man was arrested Sunday and charged with possession of drugs with intent to sell following a multi-agency investigation into the sale of heroin in the city and neighboring communities in Orange County.
Fabio Alejandro, 44, of Port Jervis, was charged with third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance with intent to sell and third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance in excess of half an ounce, both felonies.
The investigation was conducted by Port Jervis and Middletown city police, state police and the FBI Safe Streets Task Force.
Police also recovered about three ounces of heroin, packaged in 920 small envelopes or “decks” for individual sale.
Alejandro was arraigned Monday before Port Jervis City Court Judge Matthew Witherow and sent to Orange County Jail in lieu of $20,000 bail, pending further court action.
