Lap4Life Run/Walk celebrates 10 years

NEWBURGH - The 10th annual Lap4Life Run/Walk Community Event will be held June 16 at Chadwick Lake Park in the Town of Newburgh.

Lap4Life Foundation's premier fundraising event is a four-mile lap around Chadwick Lake Park. The run will begin at 9:15 a.m., the four-mile walk will immediately follow the run, and the Kids "Fun Run" will begin after the awards ceremony.

Lap4Life was started out of a sister’s love for her brother. Maddalena Casabianca-Reade started the Foundation as a way to do something to cheer on her brother, Dr. Angelo Casabianca, who was battling a rare tumor from the age of 30. Angelo proudly walked in the first Lap4Life event in June 2009. He lost his battle six months later at the age of 39. The Lap4Life event continues in his memory on the third Saturday of June at Chadwick Lake Park, in Newburgh.

The Lap4Life Foundation raises money and awareness for desmoid tumor research and organ donation.
