GOSHEN - A grand jury has indicted a City of Newburgh man on attempted murder and gun charges.
According to the state court system website, the indictment charges Walter L. Herring, 36, with felonies including attempted second-degree murder, second- and third-degree criminal possession of a weapon and second-degree assault.
The charges stem from a March 4 shooting at a nightclub in Newburgh, officials said. One person was injured.
The case was investigated by the Non-Fatal Shooting Task Force, a collaboration between City of Newburgh police and the Orange County District Attorney’s Office.
Herring is scheduled for arraignment Tuesday in Orange County Court.
