Minisink Valley Intermediate School’s K-Kids, a Kiwanis-sponsored kids club, held a drive recently for the Humane Society of Port Jervis/Deerpark.

The club’s service projects include collecting food for local pantries, visiting nursing homes and collecting supplies for the HSPJ.

The club donated cat and dog food, towels and blankets and a check for almost $130.

“Outside of our own excitement, the kids and their parents also had a good time unloading the donations and then getting to visit with the animals," said Brian Meade, shelter operations manager.

“We are grateful for their generous donations, hard work and dedication in bringing our animals these special treats," he said.

"Every donation, no matter how big or small, helps make the lives of our residents that much more comfortable.”
