PORT JERVIS - Early morning rain gave way to a comfortably cool cloud cover as 257 registered runners and walkers took to the streets on May 6 for Port Jervis’ 25th annual Delaware River 5K Run.

Immediately after the race, which started and finished on Jersey Avenue, prizes were awarded across the railroad tracks at Riverside Park. First place overall finisher was Christian Deal of Montague, New Jersey, a junior at Port Jervis High School and first-time Delaware Run entrant, with a time of 17:15. First female to cross the finish line at the Erie Depot was 17-year-old Julia Legato of John S. Burke Catholic High School in Goshen, with a time of 24:40. Brother Jacob Legato, 12, a student at Anna S. Kuhl Elementary School, placed third in the 10-12 age division with a time of 24:10.

Trophies were awarded to first-, second-, and third-place overall finishers in male and female divisions. Medals were presented to first-, second-, and third-place finishers in male and female divisions in 10 different age groups, ranging from 9 and under to 70 and older.
