CORNWALL – Cornwall Public Library, in partnership with Habitat for Humanity of Greater Newburgh, is offering a bus tour of the Newburgh neighborhoods and houses that are part of the Habitat projects. The June 18 program begins with an orientation at the Cornwall library at 6:30 p.m. Following the presentation, the bus will depart the library to tour the Habitat neighborhoods. After the tour, the bus will return to the library.

Taking a Habitat tour is a guaranteed inspiring experience. You will see doors and windows boarded up, peeling paint, and the shells of buildings. In short, you will get a glimpse of streets you most likely avoid. Then, you will see what those homes and streets can become. Habitat of Newburgh, which started with a handful of people in 1999, is on track to complete its 85th home by the end of the year, accounting for $8 million in property value.

There is limited space for the tour. Those interested can register via the online calendar or by calling the library at 534-8282. For more information on Habitat for Humanity of Greater Newburgh go to
