CITY OF NEWBURGH – Two City of Newburgh men were among more than 2,300 people charged by federal prosecutors in a three-month national investigation targeting child sexual abuse and pornography, state police said.
Troopers arrested Daniel Monohan, 41, on May 15 and charged him with one count of possession of sexual performance by a child, a felony. Miguel De Dios, 23, was arrested on May 31 and charged with the same crime.
On Tuesday the Department of Justice announced arrests in “Operation Broken Heart,” a nationwide investigation by 61 Internet Crimes Against Children task forces during March, April and May.
The operation targeted sex traffickers; online predators; people distributing, possessing and producing child pornography; and suspects traveling domestically or to foreign countries to sexually abuse children.
“No child should ever have to endure sexual abuse," Attorney General Jeff Sessions said.
