LLOYD – A Poughkeepsie man accused of violating a court’s order of protection will face felony and misdemeanor contempt charges in Lloyd Town Court next month.
Town of Lloyd police arrested Joseph E. Tippa, 43, of Poughkeepsie, on June 5 and charged him with first-degree criminal contempt, a felony, and second-degree criminal contempt and second-degree aggravated harassment, both misdemeanors.
Police said he is accused of violating an order of protection issued by the Town of Poughkeepsie Court by being in the protected person’s presence several times over the course of several weeks.
Tippa was arraigned before Lloyd Town Justice Eugene Rizzo and sent to Ulster County Jail in lieu of $10,000 cash bail or $30,000 insurance bond. He is scheduled to return to court on July 17.
