ROSENDALE – Two Rosendale teenagers were accused of stealing a bicycle Monday afternoon.

Rosendale town police said Joseph R. Flemming, 19, and Anthony S. Ermo, 17, both of Rosendale, went into Favata’s Table Rock Tours bicycle shop around 2 p.m. Monday and asked the proprietor to help them fix a bicycle.

While the proprietor was looking at that bicycle, police said, the suspects removed another bicycle, worth $3,700, from the display rack, and both of them then fled the store.

Police located Flemming and Ermo a short time later ant took them into custody. They were charged with third-degree grand larceny, a felony, and fifth-degree conspiracy, a misdemeanor. Flemming was arraigned in Town of Rosendale Court and sent to Ulster County Jail in lieu of $3,500 bail, while Ermo was released on his own recognizance, pending future court appearances.

The Ulster County Sheriff’s office and state police assisted Rosendale police.
