TOWN OF SAUGERTIES – A Saugerties man was treated at the scene and released after crashing into a rock wall on Blue Mountain Road on Tuesday afternoon.

The Ulster County Sheriff’s office said deputies responded to the scene after receiving a 911 call about the crash at 1:40 p.m.

They found the driver, Adam Bacon, 23, of Saugerties, outside the vehicle and complaining of head pain.

The sheriff’s office said an investigation determined that Bacon failed to negotiate a turn while driving north on Blue Mountain Road. His vehicle left the road, hit a rock wall and rolled over.

Bacon was charged with seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, a misdemeanor, after deputies found him in possession of a hypodermic needle containing heroin residue. He also was issued a ticket for failing to keep right, a traffic infraction.

Bacon was treated at the scene by a Diaz Ambulance crew and released.
