GOSHEN — Dorothy A. Slattery, President of the Orange-Ulster Cooperative Board, was recently presented with an award for Outstanding Service by Robert Schneider, Associate Executive Director and Chief Operating Officer of the New York State School Boards Association (NYSSBA).

The award, which was presented during the Orange-Ulster BOCES June Cooperative Board meeting, honored Slattery’s service from 2010 to 2017 as a member of NYSSBA’s Board of Directors.

In her role at NYSSBA, Slattery represented school districts in Orange, Dutchess, Sullivan, Ulster and Green counties. NYSSBA is an organization that represents school boards and promotes excellence in education for public school students throughout the state. Slattery has been a member of the Orange-Ulster Cooperative Board since 2001 and President of the Board since July 2014. Prior to her OU BOCES service,

Slattery served on the Florida Union Free School District School Board from 1987 to 2000. William J.
