Monticello Elks Lodge No. 1544 presents a check for $1066.71 to the Sullivan County Sheriff’s Office DARE program. Drug Abuse Resistance Education seeks to prevent the use of controlled drugs, membership in gangs, and violent behavior. DARE serves 650 local youngsters each year, providing them with DARE books, t-shirts and pencils. The Lodge also utilized the remainder of a $2500 Elks National Foundation (ENF) Gratitude Grant to fund a youth anti-bullying seminar and child fingerprinting on May 20.
