MONTICELLO - Police charged a 30-year-old Monticello woman with stabbing a man in the neck Monday night.

Village officers responded to the "Sleepy Hollow" apartment complex on Terry Lane at 11 p.m., where they found a 51-year-old man suffering from a stab wound on his neck, according to a news release from Monticello police Lt. Mark Johnstone.

The man told officers that Vanessa A. Curbelo stabbed him while he was at another apartment in the complex, the news release says.

Officers then went to Curbelo's residence and arrested her, police said.

The victim was taken by ambulance to Catskill Regional Medical Center in Harris.

Curbelo, 30, faces a felony charge of second-degree assault and a misdemeanor charge of fourth-degree possession of a weapon, according to the news release.

She was arraigned in Village of Monticello Justice Court and sent to the Sullivan County Jail in lieu of $50,000 bail, police said.
