MIDDLETOWN - St. Paul Baptist Church will hold a pastoral installation for The Rev. Duane W. McPherson at 11 a.m. Jan. 12 at 94 Cottage Street.

Pastor Damone Johnson of Metropolitan Church of Albany will be the guest speaker.

McPherson is a native of Orange County and a graduate of S.S. Seward Institute in Florida. He earned a bachelor's degree in organizational management from Nyack College and a Master of Divinity degree from Alliance Theological Seminary.

His ministerial resume spans decades, including assistant and senior pastorates in Middletown and Schenectady.

He was recently awarded an honorary doctorate of theology degree from Christ Theological Seminary and is currently pursuing a doctorate of ministry degree in Christian Leadership at Robert Wesleyan University.

He also spent more than 20 years in law enforcement with the New York State Department of Corrections and NY State Police/Bureau Of Criminal Investigation until he retired in 2009. 

He is currently employed as a Quality Specialist for ACCESS (Supports for Living) in Middletown.

McPherson is married with four sons and three grandchildren.
