VILLAGE OF FISHKILL – A Newburgh man died when his pickup truck crashed into a building on Main Street in the village Thursday evening.

The Dutchess County Sheriff’s office said a preliminary investigation determined that Don A. Tuangtuang, 62, of Newburgh, was driving a 2002 Chevrolet pickup truck south on Church Street around 5:30 p.m. and drove through the Main Street intersection without stopping.

The pickup truck then hit a stone wall and went partially through a plate glass window on the building at 1140 Main St.

The sheriff’s office said based on the investigation and witness statements, it appears Tuangtuang experienced a medical emergency while driving, which caused him to crash.

Tuangtuang was taken to the Newburgh campus of St. Luke’s Cornwall Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

The investigation is continuing.

The sheriff’s office was assisted at the scene by state and Village of Fishkill police, the Village of Fishkill and Rombout fire departments, and Mobile Life Support Services.
