TOWN OF WALLKILL - The Golden Corral restaurant on Route 211 East has “temporarily” shut down.

Late Friday the Golden Corral Corporation issued a brief statement:

“The franchise restaurant in Middletown, NY is expected to re-open under new ownership later this winter. We look forward to serving the community again soon.”

Meanwhile, the front doors of the business, at the former Caldor Plaza at 360 Route 211 East, bore white paper signs advising the public, “To our valued guests Golden Corral Middletown will be temporarily closed.”

The Golden Corral corporate website listed the Town of Wallkill restaurant as being “Temporarily Closed - Reopening Soon.”

The restaurant opened in June 2016.

A call to the local store’s listed phone number went to voice mail. The message was not returned by the end of the day on Friday.
