CITY OF NEWBURGH - Police arrested five people after finding multiple handguns, thousands of decks of heroin, cocaine and cash after searching two apartments Thursday on Liberty Street.

City of Newburgh police, Town of Newburgh detectives and members of the Hudson Valley Safe Streets Task Force executed the search warrants in the basement and second-floor apartments of 508 Liberty St. following a months-long investigation into drug sales at that address, police said.

The raids turned up three loaded handguns, one of which was reported stolen; 2,118 decks of heroin weighing 52.95 grams; 97.3 grams of cocaine; and $10,000 cash, according to City of Newburgh police.

Abimael Bruno, 37, Samir Lantigua, 25, Alex Santos-Martinez, 29, and Christine Guzman, 26, were all charged with four counts of third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, felonies.

Bruno was also charged with fourth-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and three counts of second-degree criminal possession of a weapon, felonies.

Lantigua, Santos-Martinez and Guzman were also charged with two counts of second-degree criminal possession of a weapon, felonies.

Micaela Sanabria, 34, was charged with one count of fourth-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and second-degree criminal possession of a weapon, felonies.
