MARBLETOWN - State police are investigating a crash that involved two Ulster County Sheriff vehicles and injured three people Tuesday morning.

An unmarked Ulster County Sheriff vehicle driven by Deputy Sheriff Robert Shamro stopped another car for violations about 11 a.m. on Lucas Avenue in the Town of Marbletown and had the driver get out of the vehicle for an interview, according to a news release from state police.

Corrections Officer James Wenzel was driving a marked Ulster County Sheriff vehicle and rear-ended Shamro's vehicle, pushing it into Shamro and the man he was interviewing, the news release says.

All three were taken to MidHudson Regional Hospital in Poughkeepsie with non-life-threatening injuries, state police said.
