GOSHEN – Members of the school’s Key Club recently transformed the cafeteria at John S. Burke Catholic High School in Goshen into a magic kingdom for the second annual Princess Tea. The event will benefit House on the Hill, a small day care service in Goshen that works specifically to teach children of immigrant farm workers.

The Key Club’s efforts were led by their advisor JoEllen Nemeth and senior Collette Higgins who was the Committee Chairperson of the event.

“Collette went above and beyond to make this event a success,” said Nemeth. “She contacted and solicited sponsorship for the event, communicated with all attendees and delegated responsibilities to Key Club members.”

Dozens of local children arrived at the tea dressed as their favorite princes and princesses and enjoyed playing themed games, eating tea sandwiches, and getting their faces painted. They were greeted by Key Club members who planned the entire event, organized all the activities and dressed up as princes and princesses themselves to the wonderment of the children.
