POUGHKEEPSIE – Dutchess County’s ‘hams’ will join with thousands of amateur radio operators who will be showing off their emergency capabilities, in an annual event known as “Field Day”.
In the Town of Poughkeepsie, hams from the QSY Society Amateur Radio Club will be demonstrating Amateur Radio at Dutchess County’s Bowdoin Park, Pavilion 4 on Sheafe Road from 2 p.m., June 22 through 2 p.m., June 23. They invite the public to come and see ham radio’s new capabilities and learn how to get their own FCC radio license.
Information regarding Field Day or the QSY Society is available by calling 914 582-3744, email@example.com or visit qsysociety.org.
The public is invited to come, meet and talk with the hams. See what modern Amateur Radio can do. You’ll have the chance to get on the air, at the special “GOTA” (Get On The Air) station for the general public, or inactive or new hams. You could also have a message sent by amateur radio.
