CORNWALL — Cornwall school officials said bed bugs have been removed from Cornwall Central High School.

In a statement posted on the district’s website, Assistant Superintendent for Instruction Megan Argenio said the problem was “isolated to two very small rooms within our building and will be treated accordingly.”

“At no time was this situation perceived to be an infestation,” she said.

The school opened Friday after a pest management company cleared the building and confirmed no additional spaces were occupied by bed bugs. That was done using a two–step process that included the use of canines trained to detect bed bugs by scent.

The statement did not indicate whether the two rooms were adjacent or close to each other.
