PORT JERVIS – Port Jervis Police are investigating an armed robbery of a male inside a Port Jervis residence early Sunday morning. Port Jervis Police Chief William Worden said Sunday evening that multiple gun shots were fired, with no injuries reported. An investigation remains underway, but no arrests have yet been made.
Calls to police at 4:33 a.m. reported multiple shots heard near the intersection of Seward Avenue and Ball Street, in the Fourth Ward section of the city. Police response, and an investigation into the incident, revealed that a Port Jervis male had been forcibly robbed at gunpoint inside a nearby residence, located above a store at 100 Ball Street. Several gunshots were also fired at the victim during the incident. However, the victim was not struck by the gunfire, and was not injured during the incident.
An investigation is being conducted by the Port Jervis City Police with assistance of the Orange County District Attorney’s Office and the New York State Police.
