With the first day of autumn less than a week away, summer continues to deliver a final round, with warm temperatures, calm winds and sunshine expected to remain in the Sussex County area through Saturday, when the temperatures are forecast to climb to 83.

With temperatures in the 70s on Tuesday, locals took advantage of the conditions, with many seen walking during their lunch hours; and people of all ages enjoying time in the parks after schools are dismissed for the day.

According to the National Weather Service, skies will be sunny during the daytime hours the rest of the week with a high of 69 today, and lows dropping into the upper 40s overnight. Thursday is anticipated to kick off with a high of 71 and low of 47, under clear skies. On Friday, the daytime high is forecast to rise to 78 and the nighttime low with mostly clear skies and at 54 degrees.

The warm and sunny weather is expected to remain after Saturday, with a high of 84 on Sunday; and on Monday, the first day of fall, a high of 82, under mostly sunny skies during the day.
