BETHEL - A New York City auction house will be in the Town of Bethel next week looking for Woodstock memorabilia.
Guernsey's, known for selling the Yasgur Farm sign that is now in the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in Cleveland, is hosting a town hall at 6:30 p.m. on Monday at Cornelius Duggan Elementary School, 3460 Route 55 in White Lake.
The auction house invites residents to bring any Woodstock mementos and stories for consideration to be included in Guernsey's auction to celebrate the 50th anniversary, which it is coordinating with original festival organizer Michael Lang, according to a news release from the company.
Items related to the 25th anniversary of Woodstock will also be considered for inclusion in the auction, the news release says.
Guernsey's President Arlan Ettinger will be there on Monday to answer questions.
“Where else would we go to find the best of Woodstock than to the town where it was born?," Ettinger said in a news release from the auction house. "We’re counting on the community to share this part of their history with us - and the world - through the kinds of memorabilia that can only be found here.”
Anyone who can't make it to the town hall can call Guernsey's for more information at 212-794-2280 or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
