WEST POINT – Beginning Sept. 22, the West Point Cadet Chapel will begin offering weekly organ recitals of 40 minute duration. These recitals will highlight the tonal variety of the largest all-pipe organ in a house of worship in the world. The monumental Cadet Chapel pipe organ contains over 23,500 pipes.

West Point Organist/Choirmaster, Craig Williams, will give the first recital this fall on Sept. 22; and young concert organist Justan Foster will perform on Sept. 29. All recitals begin at 2:30 p.m., and are free to the general public.

Entrance requirements to West Point have changed. All visitors are required to have a Local Area Credential (LAC) to be presented at the gate along with the vehicle driver’s license. The LAC may be obtained any time from the Visitor Control Center at 2107 New South Post Road inWest Point – open 7 days a week from 6 a.m.-10 p.m. A Real ID is required for application, or current driver’s license and social security card or passport. Repeat visitors to organ recitals may request a yearlong LAC which then will ensure quick passage onto West Point through all gates.

All vehicles may be subject to random search and inspection.
