Food trucks, fireworks and fun are part of the first Byram Fest, a fall evening event scheduled for Friday, Sept. 27, at C.O. Johnson Park from 5 to 9 p.m.

According to Philip J. Crosson, Jr., community relations manager for Byram Township, the township’s Recreation Committee conceptualized the Byram Fest idea to take place in the fall at the time of year that Byram Day would normally be held. Byram Day instead will be scheduled for the Spring of 2020, Crosson said.

"It (Byram Fest) will be a great fall evening celebration of Byram with family and friends," said Crosson.

The event lineup will first include several food trucks, with Benito’s Jersey Curbside Eats, Rolling with our Hoagies, Cupcake Carnivale and Marty’s Ice Cream having committed to Byram Fest.

There will also be three inflatable rides including the "Balloon Typhoon" inflatable for the youngest participants, the "Moonwalk" bounce house and an inflatable obstacle course for participants of all age groups.

The evening will wind down with a fireworks display by Serpico Pyrotechnics; and there will be glow necklaces for children at the event as night falls.

In the event of rain, Byram Fest will take place on Friday, Oct. 4.

"We recommend that you come hungry, bring a friend, bring a neighbor, bring a chair and enjoy a great fall evening under a Byram sky filled with fireworks," said Crosson.
